ComingSoon's Silas Lesnick is reporting from a press
conference for the DVD release of Iron Man 2 that the delectable Scarlett Johansson may have multiple opportunities
to slink around the screen suggestively as Black Widow. Marvel Studios head
honcho Kevin Feige intimated that beyond her reprisal of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent
Natasha Romanoff in Joss Whedon's Avengers, she may have her own adventures as
well.
"We've already started discussions with Scarlett about
the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts, but The
Avengers comes first," said Feige.
The Avengers is currently slated for production and an
eventual 2012 release, and should the Mayan predictions of doomsday turn out to
be untrue, we might actually live to see Black Widow in action, possibly foiling
terrorists or aliens. However, if Feige had read the screenplay treatment I
sent him titled Black Widow Vs The Clothes-Shredding Robots of Doom, they might
just have a hit on their hands.
