I know what you're thinking. That's Joxer the Mighty, from Xena so what the hell does that have to do with Warcraft? First of all, that isn't just anyone playing Joxter, that's Ted Raimi, Sam Raimi's younger brother. Variety just let the world know that he happens to be directing the Warcraft movie. He also was one of the creators of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena. When I think of fantasy and Sam Raimi, that's the first thing I'll think about. If you get rid of some of the cheese, pump up the story, action, and special effects, we might just have ourselves a winner.
If this follows the cannon of the first three Warcraft games, which the title does imply, it will have an eve better chance of not sucking. If this winds up being just a story in the universe that we know from World of Warcraft or a looseinterpretation, I don't expect many to be happy. Still, it is a new movie from Sam Raimi that isn't his chance at messing up more Spider-Man villains, so it is all good to me. And yeah, I'm a hardcore Sam Raimi fan, so that says a lot.
