Second Real Steel Trailer Reveals The Lame Stuff Between Fights

Hugh Jackman's battling robot picture won't just teach you how to fight, it'll teach you how to feel.

"He may be made of copper and zinc, but, dammit, he's taught me how to be more human."

No, sadly, that is not a line from the forthcoming Hugh Jackman fighting robot film Real Steel, but it may as well be.

Whereas the teaser trailer focused more on pugilistic punchcard machines, this latest one looks beneath the cybernetic brawlers to find the beating heart within.

Jackman's Charlie is a former fighter who just can't adapt now that the rules have changed.  Will he let down his family, or will he and his wiseacre kid pull themselves up by their bootstraps and climb the top of the robot boxing pyramid through hard work and determination?  I'm guessing the odds on this are fair.

Not since Ricky Schroder in The Champ have I seen a kid excited to see his father beat the snot out of something else than here in Director Shawn (Cheaper By The Dozen, two episodes of So Weird) Levy's new pic.

I'd love you more if you were a robot.

As flip as I may sound, I am hard-wired to salute any large budget motion picture that isn't a sequel or based on a pre-existing property.  IT. . .IS. . .PART. . . OF . . .MY. . . PROGRAMMING.

Enjoy the new trailer below, then find a machine and fight it.
