After the critical drubbing 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra took, Paramount went back to the lab to analyze exactly what went wrong with the film and came to the unexpected conclusion that everything was wrong except for lead Channing Tatum. So, while the star of Step Up 2: The Streets will be reprising his role as Duke, he'll be joined by an almost entirely new cast.

G.I. Joe: Cobra Strike's newest castmembers include rapper, producer, musician, actor, director, screenwriter and undisputed grandmaster of the Wu-Tang Clan, the once-and-future Bobby Digital, RZA, who will play the role of the Blind Master, who originally trained both Snake-Eyes and Jinx. This casting decision fits in pretty naturally with both RZA's noted martial arts obsession, as well as his upcoming film, The Man with the Iron Fists. Also recently announced is D.J. Cotrona of the television crime series Detroit 1-8-7, who will be stepping into the beret of Flint.

RZA's style is the best.

RZA and Cotrona join a rapidly filling out cast, which is also confirmed to include Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson as Roadblock, and Elodie Yung as Jinx. G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes is currently slated for an August 10, 2012 release date.
