There's nothing you can do to stop it: They're making another American Pie movie. This one's called American Reunion, and will check back in with now-married couple Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan, and probably have Eugene Levy dodder by and raise his eyebrows at some point. There's still no official word, however, on whether this film will respect the expansive continuity established in American Pie Presents series of films: Band Camp, The Naked Mile, Beta House and Book of Love. Also up in the air is whether Steve Stifler's younger brothers Matt and Erik will be making appearances or not. Looks like there's still room for some good old-fashioned surprises in Hollywierd, folks!
If you're not excited enough about the first theatrical American Pie release since 2003, first of all, check your pulse! Then, check out this picture of Biggs and Hannigan together on the set, which is oh-so-adorable. Or will be, until Hannigan chirps something off-color about a flute, or Biggs violates a baked good, at which point it will be oh-so-hilarious.
Don't worry, Eugene Levy is probably lurking behind those cabinets.
Biggs tweeted the photo yesterday, captioning it "We f*ck in movies." Then, if you can believe it, he used the SAME caption on a picture of a pie! Which is a reference to the first film! Oh, that Jason Biggs, why couldn't he bring that razor-sharp wit to the set of CBS' Mad Love?
American Reunion is set for a April 6, 2012 release, and stars Biggs, Hannigan, and most all of the cast of the original, including, yes, Eugene Levy. Luckily, that gives you about 10 months to catch up on the previous seven American Pie films. We'd suggest watching them once-a-month to let the subtext really sink in, and giving the three theatrical releases two viewings each. AT LEAST two viewings each.
