Up until now, wacky aliens aside, the Green Lantern movie has mostly been portrayed as fun, funny superhero fluff. But with the release of the new trailer, fans can get a better idea of the film's dramatic side...as well as look at some wacky aliens.
The full trailer covers much of the film's plot, including the Power Ring ring choosing Hal Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds), his training on Oa and even the catastrophic cosmic threat known as the Parallax Entity that threatens to destroy Earth. Most impressively, however, the trailer takes some of the movie's more dubious imagery, like a giant green minigun, and manages to make it look completely badass.

Even Ryan Reynolds' charming wit is kept to a minimum in the new trailer, leaving lots of room for the best kind of superhero space opera drama. Also: Kilowog. A fair bit of Kilowog, ladies and germs. The film doesn't come out until June 17, but in the meantime, watch the trailer below. Go ahead, you deserve it.
