According to the New York Times Marvel Studios may very well be planning on skipping this year's San Diego Comic-Con altogether, but that doesn't mean they're slowing down on promotions for their 2012 super-team-up flick, The Avengers. In fact, the studio is already getting things into place to sell a bazillion Thor's hammers, Cap's shields, Hawkeye's bows and Black Widow's...bodysuits?
At the recent Licensing Expo 2011 in Las Vegas, Twitter user @theonlyesq posted a photo he took of a brand new Avengers poster. While it's not an official movie poster, it does show off the entire team, including Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow. The poster features likenesses of those characters who aren't made entirely of CGI and don't wear a full-body metal suit, and gives fans a look at how the team's costumes will most likely appear, albeit in the candy-colored, heavily-airbrushed style that seems to be de rigueur for licensing images.

The Joss Whedon-directed Avengers is currently planned for a May 4, 2012 release date and stars castmembers from existing Marvel franchises, including Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlet Johansson (Iron Man), as well as Mark Ruffalo in his first outing as Bruce Banner.
