Forget the damsel in distress. We want our leading lady to be like a Mojito made with grain alcohol - lookin' real sweet, but packin' a powerful punch. After all, what's hotter than a good-looking chick, but a good-looking chick who could kick your ass? Movie heroines might be formidable when they're equipped with automatic weapons (Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider and the upcoming Wanted), acrobatic martial art moves (Zhang Ziyi in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, all three Charlie's Angels), or a devious, deadly stare (Barbara Stanwyck or Bette Davis in just about anything). But the real tough cookies can prove they're tough as nails - and not because of they get regular mani-pedis - with just one good jab in the jaw or long overdue uppercut.
