Chiaki Kuriyama's days as deadly schoolgirl bodyguard Gogo Yubari in Kill Bill Vol. 1 came to a gruesome end, so she's chosen a new career path: pop singer! Chiaki will be making her singing debut with the theme song to the upcoming anime, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Chiaki is recording under the name "CHiAKi KURiYAMA" and will release the single, "Ryusei no Namida" ("Tears of a Falling Star") on February 24th. The first Blu-ray volume of the sci-fi anime series (there will be six total), which chronicles the beginnings of human space colonization, will be released on March 12th, available exclusively on Amazon for its first two months of release.

Before making her American film debit with Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2004), Chiaki Kuriyama gained widespread recognition for her roles in Ju-On and Battle Royale (both 2000). She was rumored to be playing Ling Xiaoyu in the live action adaptation of the video game Tekken, but unfortunately that proved to be nothing but wishful thinking on some fanboy's part. Her other credits include Takashi Miike's The Great Yokai War and the Steven Seagal thriller about the Yakuza, Into the Sun (both 2005).
