Keanu Attatched to 'Bebop'

Oddly, we were just talking about this yesterday. If they were to make a live action Cowboy Bebop, who would play Spike? Well, Fox has answered our question with the news from The Hollywood Reporter that Neo himself, Keanu Reeves, is attached to play the futuristic bounty hunter in the film adaptation of the beloved 90s anime.

In case you suck and don't know about Bebop, the seminal Japanese cartoon premiered on Tokyo TV in the late 90s, and was heavily influenced by American music and blues/jazz culture. The noir-kung fu series takes place in 2071 where humanity has spread across the solar system thanks to astral gates. Bounty hunters, like Spike and his crew, are employed to bring back fugitives and other badguys to justice. The dark tone and slick style of the cartoon drew legions of fans in the States, thanks to a stint on the Cartoon Network re-introducing it to an entirely new generation.

Keanu will apparently take any role, and this news is sure to anger some fanboys. Personally, I would've liked to see someone like Cillian Murphy play Spike. Who else would you guys like to see as Faye, Ed, and Jet? I smell a casting feature in the future...
