Few can bridge a mythos like Karl Urban. After kicking ass as Eomer in Lord of the Rings, Urban's entrance as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek is the precise moment the movie jumps from fantastic to absolutely mindblowingly brilliant.
His newest picture is Red, in which he plays the antagonist to Bruce Willis and his amazing warband of retired lunatics (including John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and, yes, a murderous Helen Mirren.) Urban is the anchor to the film, but still gets plenty of terrific scenes in the movie.
We had the opportunity to jaw a bit with Urban at Fantastic Fest.
