THR has dropped a bombshell (a brunette one) that High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens has been cast in the Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel Journey 2: The Mysterious Island for New Line.
Hudgens will reportedly play a Pacific Islander caught up in Josh Hutcherson's search for his missing grandfather and falling for him in the process. I guess girls love it when you're nice to your grandfolks.
Aside from the appeal of the culturally convenient Hudgens, whose background is a mishmash of Irish-Native American-Chinese-Filipino-Spanish, wearing nothing but a grass skirt and coconuts, the cast also includes Dwayne Johnson and Sir Michael Caine.
Hudgens will next be seen battling dragons in WWII fighter planes and all sorts of other crazy Acid-flashback s*** as one of the ladies in Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch.
