John Orloff was a mild-mannered commercial assistant director before Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg discovered his writing talents and hired him to pen episodes of Band of Brothers. That's how Hollywood works, ladies and gentlemen - hard work and a little bit of good luck.
Now, Orloff is whipping up everything from indies (A Mighty Heart) to Roland Emmerich blockbusters (the upcoming Anonymous, which you're about to learn more about!). His next picture's the animated Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, a kick-ass fantasy starring everyone's favorite species of mouse-eating bird.
We were nuts for the movie, and we were lucky to sit down with Orloff to find out how a movie like Legend of the Guardians swooped on to the screen.
