With the Civil war come to a close, former confederate captain, John Carter, finds himself out of a job. Adventure will soon come to find him, however, as he is magically transported to Mars, known locally as Barsoom. There, he finds a conflict much the same as he'd just emerged from back home. There is a war going on, and Carter must choose a side and fight.
