Best Action Sequences

We count down the Best Action Sequences in Jason Statham's life and films.

The real pleasure in putting together an article like this is also the real pain - in the action-packed slugfests that are Jason Statham's best movies, every moment is awesome, so developing a formula for separating the incredibly awesome from the merely awesome is difficult. But let it never be said that we shy away from the tough decisions, so we treated ourselves to every single Jason Statham film ever made, from Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels to In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, and plugged our opinions into a complex quadratic equation to get this, UGO's list of Best Action Sequences. From brutal fights to cocaine-fueled nights and every point in between, these bits cement Statham's place as the leading action hero of our time.

Transporter 2 Max Fight

There's some people in this world that you couldn't pay us any amount of money to get into a fight with. One of those people is Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs, the heavyweight boxer and Mixed Martial Arts fighter who also has a role as henchman Max in the second Transporter film. With a punishing overhead right and a staggering tolerance for pain, Briggs is a fearsome competitor, and his fight with Statham's Frank West in a boat garage is just brutal. Max overpowers West every step of the way, hammering him with crushing blows and flinging him around like a rag doll, but Frank's no slouch with his fists and feet, delivering crushing blows to the giant. However, it's strategy and not strength that wins the day, as Frank lures the thug into a boat and rocks it off its moorings before escaping, causing the whole thing to collapse into a heap of shattered wood and dead henchman. Awesome one-on-one fight in a flick full of them.
