Avatar is a smash hit, and director James Cameron is already thinking sequels.

In a discussion with MTV, Cameron discussed his plans to flesh out Jake and Neytiri's story over two sequels.

"I have a trilogy-scaled arc of story right now, but I haven't really put any serious work into writing a script," Cameron said. He now plans to "refine the technique" of their computer generated effects so that the sequels have development times shorter than four years.

No plot details seem to be cemented yet, though there are rumors of a sequel focusing on the oceans of Pandora.

This would not be Cameron's first foray into sequels. His previous sequels include Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Aliens.
