There's still very little known about Intruders, an upcoming film from Juan Carlos Frenadillo, the director of the zombie sequel 28 Weeks Later but it has been described as a "genre" film about an 11-year old and her personal demons. No word yet on whether those are the Labyrinth kind of personal demons or more of The Accused variety.
The Heat Vision Blog reports that Clive Owen and Daniel Brühl have joined the cast and will be headed to London and Madrid to shoot this summer. Owen will star as the as-of-yet-uncast girl's father and there's no current word on Brühl's role. (Perhaps a literal demon? We can only hope.)
Clive Owen is, of course, no slouch to "genre" filmmaking with credits that include Children of Men and Sin City. One of his very first lead roles was even as a space pilot freelancer in the film cutscenes of the videogame Wing Commander Privateer 2: The Darkening (That's right. I went there.) Daniel Brühl, meanwhile, is best known for playing Private Zoller playing Private Zoller in Nation's Pride in Inglourious Basterds.
This project looks like it's going to be pushed onto Fresnadillo's schedule right away with shooting planned for June. The director is then expected to helm the previously announced adaptation of the video game Bioshock.
