Top 11 Holiday Movies

The only holiday movies worth watching.

Ahh, the holidays. When humans of all races, creeds and colors come together, united by a shared love of eggnog and gifts. No matter what holiday you celebrate in these cold winter months, be it Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, or whatever bizarre thing the neighbors down the hall are doing with all that cinnamon, there's nothing that brings a family together like sitting down for one of these fine films.

Scrooged

In this awesome 80s update of the Charles Dickens classic, the always-awesome Bill Murray stars as F. X. Cross, a greed-motivated TV programming executive who sees his life turned upside down by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as they attempt to fill him up with a little holiday spirit. The best thing about Scrooged is how mean-spirited and dark the film is - rife with the Me Decade's combination of personal greed and fear of nuclear armageddon, Scrooged uses sarcasm, violence and cruelty to illustrate just how badly the world needs Christmas. The set design and music are top of the line, bringing you into the bizarre fantasia of Cross's trip through the holiday world, and the special effects are completely awesome, from the rotting corpse of Eliot Loudermilk to the TV-headed Ghost of Christmas Future. An all-time classic and one of the best Bill Murray performances ever.
