Vanessa Williams: Star Bright
To be honest, we prefer Vanessa Williams the Actress to Vanessa Williams the Singer-Songwriter, especially when her various acting gigs include fighting CGI alligators with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Eraser (1996), raising hell with Samuel L. Jackson in Shaft (2000) and kicking ass with Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991). Admittedly, though, Miss Williams does have a lovely singing voice, and it is that talent that most consistently pays her bills - therefore, we acknowledge her as a recording artist this Christmas, especially as she's provided one of the most popular music albums of the season, Star Bright. Originally released in 1996, Star Bright features Vanessa doing lovely variations on the likes of "The First Noel," "What Child is This," "Go Tell It On the Mountain" and more.
