Further Adventures of...Mace Windu

The adventures of Mace Windu don't end with the Star Wars movies.

"Further Adventures of..." chronicles the lesser-known exploits of our favorite major (and minor) characters from their respective expanded universes.  Have a favorite character who deserves a little face time?  Let us know in the comments!

Though his appearances in the Prequel Trilogy were few and far between, don't think Mace Windu is one of those management-type Jedis, the kind that sits on their hover-chairs and sends padawans off to battle.  To earn a seat on the Jedi Council, one must get their lightsaber dirty, and that's exactly how Windu spent his time.

Mace Windu, Boy Wonder

While Matthew Stover's Shatterpoint mainly chronicles Mace Windu's attempt to save his former Padawan Depa Billaba from the clutches of the Galactic Republic, it also gives us an important look at his childhood in the Al'Har system.

Windu grew up on Haruun Kal (that translates to "Above the Clouds" for those unfamiliar with the Galactic Basic Standard), a volcanic planet home to the Korunnai, the nomadic tribes that live above Haruun Kal's toxic gas seas.  Unlike most human races, the Korunnai were all Force-sensitive, with Windu possessing the rare gift of sensing shatterpoints in the Force that allowed him to see into his own future.  Somehow, he still ended up with a purple lightsaber.

Mace was given by his tribe, the Ghôsh Windu, to the Jedi Order when he was a mere six months old, where he was trained by that funny, little green guy.
