Sacha Baron Cohen's much-anticipated next film, The Dictator, will see the comedian return to the mockumentary format that brought him so much success with Da Ali G Show, Borat and Bruno, and so much disappointed sighing with Ali G Indahouse. In the new film, Cohen plays a "dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed," a role that remains particularly topical with Muammar Gaddafi still acting like a complete f*cking maniac in Libya. Adding even more real world heft, is the fact that the film is allegedly based upon Zabibah and The King, a novel written by noted genocidal tyrant Saddam Hussein.
Like Borat and Bruno, the new film will be directed by Larry Charles, who is also well-known for writing a bunch of Seinfeld episodes and as a frequent director on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Aside from the fact that Ben Kingsley will be showing up and that if you live in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, you might recognize a hookah bar or eight, there's not much else to say about it. So, take a few minutes and gaze into Cohen's hypnotic beard why don't you?

Say what you will, but it's a good look.
