If the spirit of movieblogging could somehow manifest in three dimensional space, it would be at Austin's annual Fantastic Fest.
Focused primarily on hardcore foreign and independent action and cult films, recent years have brought a number of highly anticipated wider release movies as well.
Past attendees have been able to catch early, oftentimes unnanounced screenings of Zombieland, Pan's Labrynth, Timecrimes, There Will Be Blood, The Brothers Bloom, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and a whole host of others.
Of equal importance is the setting: Austin, Texas' haven for true Xanadu for cineastes, The Alamo Drafthouse, one of the few places where you can watch a cult film, drink a microbrew and enjoy delicious chicken wings in a zesty hoisin sauce.
Here's what we're looking forward to so far at this year's fest.
