Collider recently spoke with Eric Roth and got a bit of insight on what's next from the screenwriter of Forrest Gump, The Insider, Munich and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
"The big project I'd like to do, I mean I think these other projects were big in some sense, but I'm going to do a big space I don't want to say odyssey that's been done, but a space movie for Warner Brothers and I want to start like in I don't know sometime next year," Roth told the site.
The screenwriter went on to reveal that the project is an original idea that falls "somewhere between the intelligence of 2001 and the mythology of Star Wars."
I'm personally psyched about this being a brand-spankin' new sci-fi film more than anything else. Arthur, Romancing the Stone and They Live are the latest properties to fall victim to the Hollywood recycling machine. In a time where there are usually more remakes than original stories at the multiplex, it's refreshing to know someone out there is attempting to bring something new to the stars.
