The drama of war is undeniable. Countless authors and artists through the ages have sought to explore, examine and extract meaning from the theatre of war. In modern times, some examples of war are more exciting and entertaining than others. We here at UGO are sensitive to good battle, nay, highly tuned to what makes a battle great and what makes it epic. Whether it's King Henry V leading his troops, General Maximus leading the Romans against the Hordes or everyday soldiers scaling the mountainside at Iwo Jima, we know why it's good and why you should love it. UGO At War
As the war between the Death Dealers and the Lycans continues (and begins!) in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, we prepare our own attack with the UGO At War.

Vampires vs. Lycans in Underworld Evolution
The original Underworld (2003) had some sweet vampire vs. werewolf (or, rather, Death Dealer vs. Lycan) action, with Kate Beckinsale engaging in combat with the hairy beasts on subway platforms, in darkened alleys and deep in the sewer system. Underworld taught us that these two "tribes" have been at odds for some time, though we didn't really get to see the scope of this ages-old war until Underworld Evolution (2006). Kate cut head vampire Viktor (Bill Nighy) in two in the first Underworld; in Evolution, he gets his old life back in a series of flashbacks taking place hundreds of years ago. We get to see the vampires and werewolves doing battle in medieval armor (with a few gothic flourishes in the design, of course), running each other through with swords and spears, their blood turning the snow from white to red. Monsters fighting each other with sharp weapons is a glorious sight indeed.
