Emmy Rossum has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's Dragonball movie. No one knows which one of the manga's characters the Day After Tomorrow, Phantom of the Opera and Tuck Everlasting star is going to play and I'm kind of surprised that she's even agreed to star in the movie. It feels kind of like Rossum is slumming, doesn't it? I mean, it's not like her movie career is on fire or something. Maybe there's some singing involved between the dragonball battles.
Also joining the cast are Eriko Tamuro (Heroes), who we've been told will play the character of Mai, and Korean pop star Joon Park who gets to play Yamcha. They join Justin Chatwin and James Marsters in the flick which is now filming under the direction of James Wong. Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) is producing.
Meanwhile the Hoy Cinema website is running five exclusive spy photos from the Dragonball. Two are of the production filming outside a high school and three are of Chatwin standing beside a yellow muscle car. I'm not a Dragonball Z fan and haven't played any of the games but I still know that the hero Goku is supposed to be wearing some kind of orange top...and there Justin is wearing it. His hair is even spiked just a little bit.
