No need to wait until Comic-Con for some crazy news to drop, right?
Drew "Moriarty" McWeeny over at the HITFIX Motion Captured blog has it on good authority that, when The Avengers hits theaters in 2012, Edward Norton will not be playing the part of Doc Bruce Banner (a.k.a. The Incredible Hulk). According to his sources, Norton had met with director Joss Whedon about the project and was ready to sign on, but apparently the decision had already been made by the Studio to move forward with an unknown actor for what's considered the end all, be all comic book film.
Should this news prove true (and McWeeny makes it sound pretty darn official despite neither side going on record to confirm or deny), it will be extremely interesting to see how this scenario plays out at Saturday's Avengers panel at Comic-Con, as this is either the most brilliant hype move ever or, quite possibly, a huge mistake since Norton was generally well-received by the fan community with his take on the role.
Keep it locked, True Believers!
