Diablo Cody To Start Directing Her Own Quirkfests

The Juno and Jennifer's Body screenwriter will plant herself in the director's chair for the first time with the comedy Lamb of God.

Diablo Cody has found Hollywood success not just because of her quirky, machine-gun-paced pop-culture-reference-heavy screenplays, but because "Tattooed raven-haired stripper turned screenwriter!" makes for a great story. But what makes for an even better story? "Tattooed raven-haired stripper turned director!"

The writer of Juno and Jennifer's Body has sold a new script for a film called Lamb of God, which she is also slated to direct for Mandate Pictures. The movie is a comedy focusing on an extremely religious woman who loses her faith following a plane crash. Naturally, she soon heads to Vegas to get to sinning, and presumably listening to Katy Perry songs - maybe ironically, maybe not - before rediscovering her faith, and likely learning something about herself in the process. Oh, also cutesy dialogue. Hell of cutesy dialogue.

Prior to Lamb of God, however, Cody has another movie slated to hit theaters. Young Adult reteams a Cody script with Juno director Jason Reitman, and stars Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt.
