We just saw a new trailer for Warren Ellis' Red and it is just as much fun as the first one.

Who doesn't want to see Helen Mirren tell Mary-Louise Parker, "I kill people, dear."

Some of the really zippy imagery that jumped out include Morgan Freeman dressed like an African general, Ernest Borgnine giving exposition to Karl Urban and Richard Dreyfuss tied up in duct tape getting punched in the mouth.

The story of older CIA operatives coming out of retirement relies heavily on the "they are so cool factor." Bruce Willis is especially zingy, but most impressive is John Malkovich. Looks like he saved up all his oddness that he didn't bring to Jonah Hex and put it into Red.

The big finish of the short trailer includes a showdown between Malkovich with a gun and a woman with a bazooka. His bullet explodes her rocket, and at a safe enough distance for him to make a wisecrack afterwards.

Red is giving me a Kick-Ass vibe - a fun, funny movie for true comics fans that maybe doesn't make a zillion dollars but will be beloved by people who get it.
