When you're a kid, you love creatures like dinosaurs, lizards, bugs, etc. When you're a twisted kid, you love creatures like Medusa, Godzilla, the Kraken, and that disgusting creature from The Host. While that last one is a bit too recent for my childhood, you can get the idea of where I'm going with this. I loved everything that Ray Harryhausen touched, and my favorite was his magnum opus, Clash of the Titans.

Just like everything else in Hollywood these days, Clash of the Titans is coming back with a new set of actors, special effects, and of course, plot changes. We've taken these mythical beasts and tried to keep them all in in one cage for your perusing pleasure. Be sure to check back frequently, as the more new things we find out about Persueus' quest for some Andromeda love, the more will be added to the list below.

Confirmed:

  • Sam Worthington is Perseus, the son of Zeus and Danae.

  • Danny Huston is Poseidon, god of the sea.

  • Alexa Davalos is Andromeda, daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia and Persus' love interest.

  • Liam Neeson is Zeus, the king of the gods and ruler of Mount Olympus.

  • Izabella Miko is Athena is the goddess of wisdom, peace, warfare, strategy, handicrafts, and reason. In other words, she can make you kill, die, or weave you a hand-basket.

  • Ralph Fiennes is Hades, the god of the underworld.

  • Gemma Arterton is Io, a priestess of Hera who was seduced by Zeus.

  • Mads Mikkelsen is Draco, leader of the Praetorian Guard of Rome.

  • The film is directed by Louis Leterrier with music by Craig Armstrong

  • Jason Flemyng is Acrisius, the king of Argos and father of Danae. He's the one that sends a pregnant Danae off to die, because he is prophesied to be killed by his grandson.

  • The production will have a significant special effects budget, however many of the effects and sets will be physically constructed and practical. In other words, there will be lots of nice non-CG scenery.

  • The creatures, including Medusa, will be a mixture of the original Ray Harryhausen designs with new ideas and elements, to appease both existing fans and new viewers.
