Lesson #1 of being a great spy: always fraternize with the enemy. Even if they know you're a spy, offer to sit by the pool and sip drinks, or spend an afternoon shooting skeet. This will give you a gague on how anxious they are to kill you. In the case of Moonraker, Hugo Drax got a little antsy trying to kill his savvy adversary, planting a henchman in a tree ready to snipe Bond when he wasn't looking. Unfortunately, Bond isn't that much of a competitive prick to beat Drax at shooting clay plates out of the sky when he could easily take down the sniper with his shotgun.

"You missed, Mr. Bond." "Did I?"
