Yes, it freaked us out when we discovered that Samus was a girl at the end of the original Metroid, but it also lets us classify the game's final boss battle as a catfight for the ages. For our money, the best confrontation between Samus and the despicable Mother Brain comes at the end of Super Metroid. After cracking her containment tank, Samus gets bombarded with energy by the mosntrous mommy, only for a rogue Metroid to swoop in and save the day, powering our bounty hunter up enough to blast the crap out of the bitch.
