Soylent Green is people! There, now that I've spoiled that film for you, we can get to the meat of things. In the year 2020 (about 8 years from now. We're close) the human population has grown to the point where food shortage has spread throughout the world. While the wealthy are still able to afford more traditional types of food, the poor survive on a nutritious food bar known as Soylent Green. It is far better-tasting than any of the other rations out there and is advertised to contain high-energy plankton. The problem is, however, that the high-energy plankton that are so proudly touted by the Soylent corporation no longer exist.

The fictional universe is filled with fictional foods. Some, we would love to try, others... not so much. Still, these foods fascinate us, and some go on to a life of their own long after the movie they’d first appeared in has left theaters.
