63-year-old Man Makes Ill-Advised Return to Action Movies

Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return to the franchise that made him a star, as he is currently attached to a fifth Terminator film.

When he said that he wanted his post-gubernatorial acting career to follow more of a Clint Eastwood path, Arnold Schwarzenegger clearly had something very different in mind than the rest of us. The disconnect first reared it's veiny, muscular head with the news of Schwarzenegger's animated show The Governator, and now, with the announcement of a fifth Terminator film starring the bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-governor, it's fair to say that the man presiding over the world's eighth largest economy doesn't really know the difference between Clint Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone.

Deadline has reported that Creative Artists Agency is currently shopping around a rights package for a new Terminator flick that will star Schwarzenegger and likely be directed by Justin Lin, who most recently helmed Fast Five, positioned to be one of the biggest hits of the summer whether you like it or not, America. Currently, there's no screenwriter attached, but judging from Terminator: Salvation, no one really needs a writer to make a Terminator movie happen anyway.

Take a good long look at this and try to tell us you aren't excited for T5. JUST TRY.

The rights to the neatest science fiction franchise ever are currently held by a California-based hedge fund named Pacificor (BOO!), but come 2018 they will revert back to original creator James Cameron (YAAY!). Unfortunately, current predictions have the director concentrating exclusively on 5D Avatar sequels by that point, so no word on whether we'll ever get to see Ahnold blast the bejeezus out of one of those big blue space elves in what would be future us' favorite crossover ever, narrowly beating out 2017's Conan vs. Twilight.

Deadline has more details and a bunch of numbers, but here at UGO we pride ourselves in giving you, the readers, what you really want: Footage of a future governor comparing picking up heavy things to sex.
