If eleven moments were hard to pick, only six career highlights were even harder. There are great supporting turns by Angelina Jolie in films like The Good Shepherd, Alexander, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, but they're not major turning points in the career of Jolie. There are also a number of tragic missteps - Beyond Borders, Taking Lives, Original Sin - but that's part of what makes Angelina great. She takes chances, never sticking to one genre, filmmaker, or style of acting. These are the career chances that paid off the best.

Summary: After one film as a child actress, the then Angelina Jolie Voight made her grown-up debut in this low-budget action thriller alongside craggy Hollywood legend Jack Palance. Jolie plays Casella "Cash" Reese, a futuristic combat cyborg loaded with the deadly "Glass Shadow" a special variant of programming that allows her to pass for human. Unfortunately, "Glass Shadow" is also a powerful explosive, and Cash's mission is to secure entry into a rival manufacturer's headquarters and then suicide bomb the place. After developing feelings for a human martial arts instructor, Cash escapes her creators and goes on the lam, desperate to overcome her programming and live a normal life. However, that's harder than it seems, as cyborg hunter Danny Bench is on their tail. The young Jolie looks gorgeous in the film and handles her action sequences with gusto, showing flickers of the drive that would make her one of the biggest stars in the world.
