Big news swinging in from The Daily Bugle out of New York!

Turns out the movie we've been talking about (and maybe a little bit griping about) as the Spider-Man Reboot finally has a name.  And that name is The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man has been the name of the main, ongoing comic series for Spidey since 1963, so we know the title has legs.

The announcement came with the full photo of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man (see right and click for bigger version) as well as the launch of an official website at TheAmazingSpiderMan-Movie.com

Okay, so at least the MOVIE has a nice ring to it.

It's a great name for this project, because it is back to basics, but still separates itself from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

Marc Webb and his team still have a big climb.  Not only does the excellent Raimi franchise loom above them, but the current Broadway boondoggle can't be helping much.

Too bad The Dark Knight Rises couldn't also turn to earlier titles - but I guess Detective Comics: The Movie sounds even worse.
