The 9th Annual Golden Trailer Awards has announced its jury of elite industry pros. This year, for the first time, the award ceremony will ask the public to choose the nominees.
The first 150 people to register online will join Myles Bender, Tony Hawk, Jonathan D. Krane, Gary Meyer, Claudia Puig, Eli Roth, Morgan Spurlock, Joss Whedon and Mark Wnek to let the movie biz know which trailers make the cut!
Event co-founder and producer Evelyn Brady-Watters explains, "Trailers are meant for audiences, who should have a say about which trailers are best. Now, we've been able to put the technology in place for the first public jury to select the Golden Trailer Award nominations."
Sign up begins at 12:01am on Tuesday, April 8th at www.goldentrailer.com, and the first 150 people to register online will take part. Fifty-four award categories will be divided into three sections, with 50 public jurors nominating in each section. Participation is free and will run through April 16th. Adds Monica Brady, "If you love movies, it's a sure bet you've got a thing or two to say about trailers. Instead of talking to the screen, let Hollywood know what you like and don't like."
Established in 1999 to celebrate the art, craft and fun of movie promotion, The Golden Trailer Awards are coveted prizes for trailer producers, and watched carefully by marketing decision-makers in the industry. The live gala awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 8th at the landmark Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Announcements are expected soon for celebrity hosts and presenters, and national broadcasts for the U.S. and Canada in late May.
