In Korea, Star Craft 2 Is for "Adults Only"

Because Korean children don't know anything about swearing, drugs and violence.

If any one country outdoes the U.S. for StarCraft 2 enthusiasm, it's Korea. But the Korea Times reports that the country's ratings board has determined it's too mature for those under 18. The Games Rating Board, a division of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has given the game an Adults-Only rating.

It bases the rating on the game's "violence, foul language and depiction of drug use." Blizzard has 30 days to file an appeal, but a spokeswoman for Blizzard Korea said the company has not decided whether it will make an attempt. If the company opts to adjust parts of the game, it could delay it until next year in the country.

By comparison, the game got a Teen rating in the U.S., and its content descriptors were similar to those given by the Korean ratings board. It was cited for "Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of alcohol and Tobbacco, Violence." The original StarCraft was rated Teen as well.
