Like it or not - you like it - science fiction has defined our lives for the past hundred years. All those predictions about computers and cooking a turkey in minutes have led scientists to try to impress their friends by making that stuff actually happen.
And, to a large extent, they have. From lasers pointers to laser pens, science fiction has given a lot of neat predictions that have eventually entered our homes and non-flying cars. I mean, you’re literally reading this on a computer hooked up to a network that uses electricity.
On the other hand, science fiction has also had a lot of misses. I mean a lot. More than a few is what I’m saying. Many. Here are the worst.
