"Split/Second's HUD was born out of necessity, really. It had to be the way it is because if there was less of it, you couldn't get your info and if there was more of it, it cluttered the screen. We went through a lot of evolution with it. For a while there was no HUD. The cars were doing the read-outs and everything was coming through the lights and stuff like that -- that was too minimal...
