If you live in New York, be sure to pick up one of the two free newspapers crumpled up in the dark corner of your subway station. Both Metro and AM New York have had their front and back pages replaced with fake headlines, advertisements and obituaries from the universe of Professor Layton, the popular Nintendo DS franchise, whose latest edition, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, is available now.

Nintendo - who's creative marketing heretofore was,  "Let's hire that Robot Chicken guy - did a bang up job this time. The art's creative and engaging. It's anecdotal evidence, but we saw a number of commuters giving the rags a read.

So, how will Nintendo know if the ad increased awareness of Layton's new adventure? Simple! Us subway riders must merely count the commuters who purchase the puzzling product! Another riddle solved!
