You won't like this if...

if you don't like tough bosses, multi-tiered maps, little to no story.

Recipe for an entertaining multiplayer romp:

Ingredients:

Directions

Take all the above and smoosh them together. When you're adding the Team Fortress 2, you'll want to make sure to focus on the class-based combat system, but in this case you'll want to add a pinch of RPG-style leveling to balance out the sharp flavor. Don't forget to include the brightly colored, cartoon-style graphics and over-the-top sound design before you bake.

You'll want to stir the Team Fortress 2 into the mix slowly with a wooden spoon ? take note of the differences as the ingredients combine: instead of many classes, each being good at one particular aspect of an overall team effort, you'll notice that Monday Night Combat's classes are better able to stand on their own. You've got your all-purpose assault guy, your tough tank (who can convert himself into a turret), your stealthy assassin, sniper, and a couple others. Of course, these all taste best when your team has an even distribution of them, but they can be pretty effective on their own, as well.

Next, set your oven to 350 degrees, and get ready to stir in the Smash T.V. Check to make sure your Smash T.V. came with: a "Hey-ohhhh!"-type Monster Truck Rally announcer, a bunch of money to be earned by killing stuff, and plenty of fun nods to the more ridiculous elements of professional sports. Now add a few multi-tiered maps, "protect the fort" gameplay, and a system whereby you can spend your money on upgrades, traps, turrets, and other defensive improvements. Don't forget that you'll be putting your players up against some pretty tough bosses, so give them a variety of weapons and upgrades they can use to blow those baddies up.

your robot allies can destroy the opponents' money ball for you. Expect a lot of back-and-forth, tug-of-war style fights, with no easy way to gain the upper hand off the bat. It's not quite Team Fortress 2-level of pure, unadulterated fun, but it's definitely enjoyable.

Once you've completed mixing, place the pan into the oven and cook for a half hour at 350 degrees. You may discover, when it's finished, that your biggest trouble is finding anyone to enjoy your Monday Night Combat with you. Xbox Live seems bereft of players, so you'll want to count on your buddies. If they're willing to spend the cash to pick up a piece of a tasty multiplayer goodness, you'll be sitting pretty. If not, prepare to eat alone a lot of nights.

Let cool. Place on an Xbox 360 and serve.
