DJ Hero is a third of Activision's peripheral troika, the others being Guitar Hero 5 and Tony Hawk's Ride. All are slated for release in time for the holidays.
Of the three devices, DJ Hero's turntable controller achieves the middle ground of novelty; it is neither familiar as Guitar Hero 5's instrument, nor inventive as Ride's skateboard. That's good for the device, as I predict it will attract the rhythm game repeat offenders, but not scare away any newcomers to the genre or peripherals in general.
But that doesn't explain how it feels. It feels good, like how you imagine it feels to be spinning or scratching or doing whatever DJS do. And then there's the game itself. Well, I'll let your eyes be the judge of that. Enjoy these two videos courtesy of Activision.
