David Jaffe has chimed in on his next game, offering the first official denial that his current project is a new Twisted Metal title. He tweeted yesterday, "By the way, I WISH we were making a new Twisted Metal. Making game you've already worked on is tons easier cuz your core blueprint is already there. This new game design stuff tho? Man, that is hard...reason I'm so stressed these days!" He went on to say the new design is fun too, but "days like today you just WISH you already knew the formula that worked!"

We first heard that a Twisted Metal project was in the works two years ago, after eager fans cracked a clue in Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. He also recently told a fan at the AIAS "eight or nine months" in regards to an unclear question. He may have simply been referring to his next project which, now that he's denied it's Twisted Metal, is again a mystery. We'll likely find out more at E3.
