Remedy has released a new trailer for "The Writer," the next downloadable "episode" for their psychological thriller Alan Wake. Along with showing off the latest reality-bending trappings the DLC will throw players into, the trailer (via GameTrailers) also reveals when it'll be available and a price: October 12, for 560 Microsoft Points ($7).
As Remedy previously revealed,
"The Writer" will be the last downloadable episode released for Alan
Wake, a fact highlighted in the trailer with taglines like "End the
Nightmare." Think of this, then, as something of a season finale for a
game that Remedy always pitched as having a television series-like
structure.
Or, this may even be a series finale -- Remedy also previously revealed that Microsoft hadn't signed on for a sequel to Alan Wake (at least as of June), although Remedy's
Oskari Hakkinen was optimistic it would happen, saying that "we're happy
with the partnership and [Microsoft's] happy with the game."
