The Blair Witch Project - Michael In The Corner

The most profitable movie of all time is also one of the scariest. In the 1999 indie blockbuster The Blair Witch Project, we follow three aspiring filmmakers through the woods of Maryland on the search for the Blair Witch, a mythological creature rumored to haunt the local woods. The trio endure a number of bizarre and unexplained phenomena including mysterious bundles of twigs, time-space distortions and mysterious giggling noises before succumbing to insanity. In the film's climax, Heather, alone and terrified, enters an abandoned shack after Michael, who had run inside without warning or explanation. She finds him standing in a corner, facing the wall, and screams - and then the picture jerks and cuts to black. As the camera falls to the ground, we hear inconclusive bangs, thumps and whimpers. The fact that not a damned thing can be seen makes the whole experience even scarier.
