We had to get this one out of the way and we couldn't very well ignore the Golden Age gem of heroes' "weaknesses." The original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, had a very basic weakness: wood. In fact, it was whatever the author wanted it to be that month, but mostly it revolved around wood and wood-related weapons criminals would use against him. This is the sort of thing that seems silly to us today, but I guess back in the Golden Age, wood was a serious threat.
