Nutrisystem Auto Delivery

In this article we discover that Nutrisystem's Auto Delivery program is one of the more obscure aspects of their diet program that often confuses customers.

To help to alleviate that confusion, I will share my knowledge here so customers can better understand how it works and what is involved with the process.

Most customers are familiar enough with the basics to be able to use this program. However, not all people are aware of its implications.

What is Auto-Delivery?

This is simply a means by which the company gets the customer's authorization to send out a new monthly package of food to coicide with the estimated completion of the previous month's package, to prevent a gap in diet days.

This enables the company to streamline the delivery process and ensure that every subsequent month's meals arrive before the customer has finished the previous one.

It is also a requirement when a new customer accepts a first-month discount deal. This is often advertised in the company.

These are important details to know before signing up for the program. This information is vital to avoid any hidden fees.

Why Auto Delivery is Necessary

The company is in this business of diet and weight reduction to make money first and foremost. That is what you must remember.

They often offer amazing deals like free meals or money off your first month. However, going from the second month onward, the customers must pay the regular price, which is higher.

The company won't make any profit if the customer pays less than the Nutrisystem costs.

No matter how much money you make, there is no free lunch. Nutrisystem is an employer of many people. Each one needs to be paid a monthly salary.

For you to receive the food, paying the delivery drivers, packers and other workers is a fact of the business. Customers support agents must also be paid to answer calls.

Although you may think you are only paying to purchase the raw ingredients, this is not the whole picture.

You will still have to pay for the food once it arrives at your house. In the end, however the expense of a customer's meals is the biggest expense in the company budget.

Setting the Price

Prices of diet plans are set at a certain level to ensure that customers get a fair deal and the company can make some money.

A business without a profit is, as we all know, not a business. It must make profits to stay in business.

Before it even starts to see any profit, the company needs to cover the costs of paying employees, making the product and shipping it, advertising etc.

They offer customers a second period at the regular prices to compensate for all this (I explain more in my review of Nutrisystem). This is another reason why the delivery system is in operation.

How to Cancel Nutrisystem

So how can you cancel Nutrisystem Auto Delivery so there are no more food delivery packages being shipped to your home?

It is vital that you communicate with the company to inform them that you would like to discontinue auto delivery promptly.

This is the latest number that is available on the website. It was accurate at the time I published my article.

Not the Website

The official Nutrisystem website is not the place for you to cancel. So don't waste any time on there or get all stressed because you can't find the right page, because it isn't there.

You need to call the number given above.

Penalty for Early Cancellation

Not only are you aware of the discount you received, but it is also important to remember that cancellations made before you have paid at least two consecutive months of food are not allowed.

You'll have to pay the difference between your purchase price and the cost of the first month's food. Shipping costs could apply to you if you were offered free shipping.

It is possible that the penalty will be deducted on the credit card for which you signed-up. You accepted these terms, even if you didn't know it.

There is No Free Lunch

Some people believe they can take advantage of the first monthly discount. If they cancel before the next box arrives they will be able to receive a month of affordable diet meals.

But that isn't the problem. The discount offer was designed to attract new customers. However you must agree to auto-delivery. This means that you will need to continue paying at least one extra month at the full price.

Like I stated at beginning of the page, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Summary

Many dieters don’t have problems because they promise to stay on the diet for at most two or three months. If you are serious about losing weight and wish to see just how well Nutrisystem works, you will need to make this commitment.

Regardless of which Nutrisystem meal plan you selected, you can cancel any time after you have paid for your second month.
