The Nutrisystem Basic plan is the most affordable of all three Nutrisystem plans. This is their most basic meal delivery plan.

This is a great deal if you have a tight budget, as 90% of your food will be covered, which shows that the cost of Nutrisystem is very affordable.

You have over 100 options for meals, including pizza, pasta and chocolate bars.

These prepackaged meals can be taken with you if you go out anywhere and they don't need refrigeration.

They can be easily carried with you wherever you go.

Lowest Price Plan

You can expect to pay less for your primary program, even though you get the same benefits as other expensive options. For those with tight budgets, the primary option is perfect. It's affordable and easy to follow, which is sure to please people.

The Basic plan doesn't allow you to create your own menu, nor does it allow you to select your favorite meals, but you will be sent a selection of "Customer Favorites", which can be used for 28 days.

This includes breakfast, lunch, evening meal plus a snack bar (women's plans) or two snack bars (men's plans).

This gives you the opportunity to try different meals and you may find some that you like. If you are adventurous, you may like the option to have someone else select the meals for your enjoyment, that way you won't know what you're getting!

However, it is possible to not like the meals that you receive from customers if you are a picky eater. You may not like what someone else enjoys, and vice versa.

Online Tracking Tools

The Basic plan includes free online tracking tools as well as a Nutrisystem app that will help you track your weight loss progress.

However, you don't get access to unlimited online and phone access to dietitians and counsellors as with the costlier plans.

Summary

Although you get a complete Quick-Start Guide, Eating Out Guide and Daily Tracker with your first order, you'll be effectively doing the diet by yourself without access to the counsellors that are available on higher plans.

The Uniquely Yours program may be a better option if you are anxious about losing weight or simply want to know someone is available to answer your questions when you need them.

On the bright side, the Nutrisystem men's and women's Basic plan costs about $50 per month less than the Uniquely Yours programs. If you don't care too much about the food, the Basic plan is probably perfect for you.
