A location defines a physical area within a facility where you store materials. A facility can have multiple locations for different purposes. For example, you might have the following locations in a facility:

When you create locations, you also make decisions about whether you use bins in that location and how those bins are tracked.
Before you add locations, you must have the following set up:

To add a location, follow these steps:
Kenandy creates the location.
When you set up a location, you must make choices about how you're going to track bins in that location. After you've done this, you cannot change those choices when you're setting up or modifying bins in that location.
Here are the bin settings you need to consider when setting up or modifying a location:
The following table lists the fields that Kenandy provides. Your system administrator selects the fields that are displayed on your user interface.

| Bin Tracked |
Select this checkbox if this location has discrete bins you use to store items. Clear this checkbox if you store items throughout this location and don't need to track specifically where in the location things are. A bin can be a physical bin, a shelf, a slot, or any other section of this location. |

Optional. A description of this location that helps Kenandy users at your company understand what this location is used for. |
| Facility |
The facility where this location exists. The lookup icon displays a list of available facilities. |
| Location | The name of the location. |
| Mixed Bins Allowed | Select this option if you want to be able to store more than one kind of item in a single bin anywhere in this location. |
| Nettable |
Select this option to make the items you store in this location available to fulfill sales orders and work orders, and available to MRP to plan for future fulfillment needs. Clear this option only if none of the items in this location will be used for sales orders or work orders. |
| Track Bin Capacity |
Select this option if you want to keep track of the amount of items in the bins in this location. |
