Flexible allocation lets you choose how you want to allocate items to sales orders and work orders. You can allocate some items by quantity only, and allocate other items by location, bin, and all the other attributes you track. You can also set up allocation by any combination of attributes.
To make this work, create allocation profiles for your company and your items. Allocation profiles tell Kenandy what attributes you want to use when you allocate items to sales orders or work orders.
Allocation profiles are optional. You can allocate goods without profiles. But allocation profiles can save your staff time when they're setting up work orders, allocating shipments, and picking items to ship.
For example, if you want your shipping dock pickers to be able to pick an item called T-Shirt from any location, you can deselect Location on the allocation profile. When you allocate T-Shirts to a sales order, Kenandy doesn't specify a location. That way, your pickers can pick T-Shirts from any location in your warehouse, and your inventory changes and transactions will be created correctly.

Set your allocation profiles as part of setting up your company, before you go live on Kenandy.
Set up allocation profiles before you need to start allocating items to sales and work orders in Kenandy. You can set up allocation profiles for two things:
Important: You cannot create or modify an allocation profile for a company or an item that has any Allocated SKIDs using it.
After you've set up allocation profiles, you can use them when you're allocating items to sales orders and work orders.
When you allocate an item to a sales order or work order, Kenandy uses the allocation profile for that item. If that item doesn't have an allocation profile, Kenandy uses the company-wide allocation profile.
On work order and sales order allocation pages, you won't see attributes you deselected on the allocation profile. For example, if you deselect Location on the allocation profile for an item called T-Shirt, you won't see (or be able to allocate by) location when you're allocating T-Shirts to a sales order.
Before you start creating allocation profiles, you must have the following set up:
Note: You can create only one company-wide allocation profile and only one allocation profile per item.
Kenandy creates the allocation profile.
You can now use this allocation profile when you allocate items to sales orders and work orders.
Kenandy modifies the allocation profile.
The attributes you deselect won't show on the Allocation page.
The modified allocation profile is now available for sales order and work order allocation.
The following table lists the fields that Kenandy provides. Your system administrator selects the fields that are displayed on your user interface.
